Stephen T. MacConnell, President & CEO

As President and CEO of Cincinnati Union Bethel, the oldest non-profit social service agency in the Midwest, Steve MacConnell’s focus is on furthering the agency’s mission of education and support to the 2,500+ clients it serves each year through Head Start child development centers, technology training, youth and family development and social support services.  He was appointed to the position of President and CEO on October 1, 2001, and joined the agency from Family Service of the Cincinnati Area, where he was Executive Vice President.  A former Managing Partner of the law firm Kepley, MacConnell & Eyrich, MacConnell is a member of the American, Ohio and Cincinnati Bar Associations.

Currently appointed to the Hamilton County Human Services Planning Committee and the Cincinnati Complaint Authority, where he serves as Chairperson.  Among other organizations, MacConnell has served as President of the board of Cincinnati Area Senior Services, Inc., Hamilton County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services, and The Springer School.  He also served a six-year term as president of the Anderson Township Board of Trustees.

 
Mary Carol Melton, Executive Vice President
Mary Carol Melton has over 25 years of experience in nonprofit work as an administrator, trainer, volunteer, and board member.  Mary Carol joined the senior management team of Cincinnati Union Bethel as VP of Resource Development in January 2005.  In this capacity, she oversees human resources, risk management, communications, and fund development for the agency.  Prior to joining Cincinnati Union Bethel, Melton had been the Assistant Director of Central Clinic in
Cincinnati.

Melton serves on the board of the Alcoholism Council of the Cincinnati Area, NCADD and is the past board chair.  She is also a volunteer with ProKids in
Cincinnati and a past recipient of the FBI Director's Community Leadership Award in the Louisiana Field Region.

 

DeeAnn Camp, Director of Head Start & Social Services

DeeAnn Camp joined the Cincinnati Union Bethel staff in August 2004. She has a long background of Head Start experience from working with another delegate agency, where she held the position as the Family and Community Partnership Coordinator. Her responsibilities included supervising Family Service Workers and overseeing the enrollment process and community partnerships. DeeAnn has over 15 years of experience in social service and has previously worked at Job and Family Services in the children services division. She has a Masters degree in Education with an emphasis in agency and community counseling. DeeAnn is excited about bringing CUB into the forefront and directing the talented staff to be the very best they can be.

 

Diana M. Grover, Director of Quality & Compliance

With over 22 years of experience in the corporate legal industry, Diana Grover is well-suited for the role of Quality & Compliance Director at Cincinnati Union Bethel.  Prior to joining the agency on October 1, 2001, she was employed in the Legal Department of Student Loan Funding Resources, Inc. as a paralegal under the direction of current CUB President and CEO, Stephen T. MacConnell.  Her other employment experiences include serving in the roles of legal secretary, legal office manager, and paralegal at small, medium, and large law firms, as well as in the corporate legal department of a Fortune 500 commercial financing company in Atlanta, Georgia.  It was upon her arrival in Cincinnati in 1995, that her talents shifted to the non-profit arena, along with an ongoing desire to promote quality service that has a basis in accountability and accurate record keeping. 

Chad Nieter, CPA, Finance Director

Chad Nieter joined our agency in August, 2007, having spent most of his seventeen years in the accounting and finance field working for and with social service agencies.  He was employed as Director of Finance at HealthPoint Family Care; and served as Fiscal Director, then Director of Operations for Women's Crisis Center.
